I hate to start on a serious note, but I really, really hope all of you running High Sierra have applied the security update that closes the root bug on macOS 10.13 and 10.13.1. I know this is old news, but this flaw is very serious, and leaving your machine unpatched is risking too much to ignore. Please, if you have not done so, apply the security update or macOS 10.13.2.
In other, less serious news, it's cold. Who in the world ordered that? Please send blankets! Seriously, I could really use one. Also, could someone please tell my office mate to turn down his music? It's almost 2018 and headphones have been in existence for quite a long time. I'm done hinting: action will be taken!
Now that I have aired dirty laundry, let's get on with the the newsletter. If I don't, I'll air yet more grievances.
Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.8 and Nisus Writer Express 3.5.8
"Fixes for High Sierra and other issues"
We have just released Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.8 and Nisus Writer Express 3.5.8, the latest release of our powerful word processors for the Mac.
These releases fix a small number of important bugs including: crashes on macOS High Sierra when saving or loading files using certain fonts, potential crash after visiting the Language preference pane, and possibly garbled Japanese text when importing content from outside Nisus Writer.
The updates are free for users of Nisus Writer Pro 2.x and Nisus Writer Express 3.x. If you purchased directly from Nisus Software you can update now from inside the application, or download Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.8 and Nisus Writer Express 3.5.8 from our website. The updates will be available from the Mac App Store as soon as they are approved.
If you do not currently own Pro or Express, they can be purchased from our store and the Mac App Store. Nisus Writer Pro is $79 USD. Upgrades from previous versions of Nisus Writer Pro are $49. There are also family pack and academic versions available.
Nisus Writer Express can be purchased for $20 USD on our store and the Mac App Store.
Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.8 and Nisus Writer Express 3.5.8 require OS X 10.8.5 or above.
