Greetings From Nisus Land
"The Headmaster Ritual"
This weekend is a long one for those of us here in the US. I believe those of you in the U.K. are having a bank holiday. What is my point? We get an extra day to be lazy.
Enough gloating. This long weekend is supposed to be the "official" start of summer. However, summer starts in 3 weeks, so how could this be the "official" start? It's confusing, and factually wrong, but fine.
So now that I've filled two paragraphs let's talk about the newsletter. We have a tip, some nice words about Nisus Writer Pro, and a sale.
We'll think of you while we are stuffing ourselves at a barbecue.
Nisus Writer Pro
"Big Weekend Sale"
The appleJAC User Group in Missouri took the time to review Nisus Writer Pro (NWP). Among the nice words written about NWP there is this:
It is really impressive how easy it was to just start writing. With the handy retractable tool sidebar, I was able to quickly drop in new tables and shapes with a mere click, then modify color, size, outline and more without searching for tools.
You can read the review on the appleJAC site.
If you haven't yet purchased and are thinking about buying, maybe a discount would change your mind? From now until May 31 you can purchase NWP for $10 off from our store and the Mac App Store. We are also discounting the upgrade and the family pack. Just use the coupon "Memorialday" in the shopping cart.
You can read all about NWP and download the demo from its product page. You can also view the video tutorials by user James Tummins (a user and a fan!) to help get you started.
NWP requires OS X 10.8.5 or above.
Remember, this sale ends Tuesday May 30, so act quickly.
Tips and Tricks
Image Resizing
A Nisus Writer Pro user wrote to us asking if there was a way to resize an image and keep its proportions. I reached out to our resident tips maven Rock Strongo for an answer.
Sometimes you want to resize an image to adapt to the space available. You can do that in Nisus Writer Pro by holding down the shift key while resizing an image. This will maintain the aspect ratio.
We thank Rock for his tip. He would add more, but he had to rest as this tip wore him out.

InfoClick
Seek and You Will Find
I was recently looking for a very old email from the last century. I had very little recollection of the subject, but I remembered some bits and pieces of the text. I wouldn’t have found it using the search function in Apple Mail, but I was able to find it with InfoClick.
InfoClick is a very powerful search tool for use with Apple Mail. It allows you to navigate through your old emails to see words, contacts, or other bits of information you need. There is no guesswork involved. InfoClick knows what words were used. A notes editor is also included for bits of information you are collecting, among other things.
InfoClick can be purchased for only $15 from our store or the Mac App Store. You can download a fully working demo or read all about it on our InfoClick page.
InfoClick requires OS X 10.7 or later.
If you need to search your emails and actually find information, InfoClick is the app for you.
