"Shocking Prediction"

This may shock some of you, but I have a prediction. Supposedly, there is some kind of announcement coming from Apple next week. After many phone calls and clandestine meetings, I have now figured out what the announcement is about.

I predict that there will be a new iPhone released. It will have new features. Features that will not be on any other iPhone. Shocking, right? I was shocked too, at first. I'll give you a bit of time to recover from the shock.

Ready? OK.

Now for the joke part of this newsletter.

And now on to the meat of this newsletter. As if my prediction wasn't enough. Sheesh ... you people are tough!

Nisus Writer Pro 2
"End of the Month Blues"

Let me get straight to the point. It is the end of the month, and I need to move some units. Not just any units, but Nisus Writer Pro 2. I am so anxious to get the latest version of Pro onto your computer that I will eat a bug. Maybe even two!

Now why would I eat a bug to get you to purchase Pro? It's because Pro 2 is full of features that our customers, you guys, as it were, have requested. Features like:

• track changes
• drawing tools (shapes, lines, floating text boxes)
• watermarks
• paragraph-level borders and shading
• EPUB export
• a customizable "special characters" menu and palette
• saved PDF files create clickable links for cross references, page numbers in generated TOCs/Indexes, and hyperlinks
• vertical ruler
• option to control the page color in Page View
• OS X Lion compatibility (Pro 2.0.1)

Included in Pro 2 are over 500 fixes, additions, optimizations, and other changes. You can read about all of the changes on the Pro release notes page.

You can purchase the upgrade to Pro 2 from our store for only $49. The full version is $79. A family pack can be purchased for $99 (or you can upgrade a family pack for $69). A CD is available for an extra $10 plus shipping.

Nisus Writer Pro 2 requires OS X 10.4.11.

I really don't want to do these odd things, but if it gets you to purchase Pro 2 then it is (almost) worth it.

Nisus Writer Pro 1.4.2
"Lion Compatibility Served Here"

In addition to Pro 2.0.1 we have also recently released an update for those of you who are still using Nisus Writer Pro 1.x. The Nisus Writer Pro 1.4.2 release contains basic Lion compatibility, fixes for .doc/.docx importing and other smaller fixes.

This new version is a free updates to all users of Nisus Writer Pro 1.x. You can update either through the application (Nisus Writer Pro>Check for Updates...) or by downloading at the Pro 1.4.2 download page.

Nisus Writer Express 3.4
"Because We Weren't Busy Enough"

While we were updating Pro we decided that Express should get some attention as well. We may have gotten a bit carried away, but that's what we do.

In Nisus Writer Express 3.4 we added Lion compatibility, Lion full screen, and fixed a large number of bugs, issues, and personality conflicts. Too many if you ask me! This update also includes a different file importer that is compatible with both Intel and PowerPC Macs. Unfortunately making this change eliminates WordPerfect import capability.

Nisus Writer Express 3.4 is a free update for those who have purchased Express 3.x. If you are not currently an owner of Express it can be purchased from our store for $45, or $30 for the upgrade from any version of Express 1 or 2.

Express 3.4 requires Mac OS X 10.4.11.
