NWX 2.0.1 Menus and language tab don't work

As an user of Classic Nisus Writer for years, I bought Nisus Writer Express as it appeared; but not using it, because I need styles and there was a bug that the Save-as-command didn't work. But now, styles included in 2.0.1 I don't want to work with the classic version annymore. But there are two causes preventing me from using Nisus Writer Express.

1. After typing anything, even one letter, the menus don't work anymore. (Tool bar is working).
2. The language tab in the preferences does not work at all: I click on it, nothing happens. (Which would not bother me, because the language is Austrian-German from earlier installation; but I wanted to find out, if possibly the menu-bug is caused by language.)

So I tried to uninstall Nisus, searched for everything with nisus und trashed it. Obviously I did not find everything, because I did not, as I expected, have to reenter the serial number or language.

Question: how can I uninstall the entire programm to make a clean new installation of Nisus Writer Express 2.0.1, to find out, if it works then?

(I hope my Englisch is not too bad; I have not written in English for years.)

I think (but I'm not sure) that you need to delete the program, the preferences file, and the Nisus Express file in your Application Support folder (go to your Home folder and then go the Library folder within that folder.) That should do it.

It is possible you are having trouble with a custom language you have defined. To manually remove these languages, delete the folder:

~/Library/Application Support/Nisus Writer/Languages

and relaunch Express.

The Languages-directory was empty; I trashed it anyway, no change.
As I understand you don't need the languages-tab in the preferences, if there ara no languages except the Mac OS languages, and so you can't use the language-tab in the preferences. So that's not a bug.

It did (I also trashed the invisible .nisus-folder with the NISX-file in it, where I found my registration-informations). Then I changed the Mac OS language from Austrian-German to German und installed Nisus Writer Express again, had to enter the registration-information again etc.

Same behaviour: after having typed even one letter, the menus are not working at all. So of course I can use Nisus Writer Express, as long as I don't (have to) touch the menus. That's not working for me.

I suppose there's something on my machine which Nisus Writer Express doesn't like; but I have no idea at all, what it could be. So back to Apple Works (and Nisus Writer Classic for style-complex texts).

I'm very sorry you are having these menu problems with Nisus Writer Express. We want to diagnose this problem and fix it for you if we can!

What version of Mac OS X are you using?

When you say your menus do not work, do you mean that if you click on a menu, such as "File" it will not open or do you mean that all of your menu items are grayed out?

Also, do you know what keyboard are you using to type in?

It will not open.

It's German.
(My Mac is a Powerbook 12" from 2003, at home connected to a 19" Monitor and a Cherry-PC-keyboard via KVM-Switch; but Nisus Writer Express reacts the same with both keyboards, as with trackpad or USB-mouse.)

Nothing in your configuration would seem to be causing your problem. Do you have any extensions such as TextExtras, TypeIt4Me or anything like that installed?

It would be easiest and fasted to resolve your issue if you can send us feedback using the "Send Feedback" command in the "Help" menu of Nisus Writer Express. This function includes some important system information and information about any recent application errors to help me diagnose your problem.

You can access the menus right after launching Nisus Writer Express, yes? If so, please use Send Feedback and include the e-mail address you have in your profile on this board it can get routed to me. I will then contact you directly.

I just have sent the feedback.

I "solved" my Nisus Problems, as because of continuous finder-crashes (and an totally unstable computer at all) I at the end had to install a clean (and more lean) system. Nisus Writer Express works since then as it should.

But trying to use the usual keys to type a non-breaking space (option-spacer), nothing happens. As it seems you have to type the spacer first and then option-shift-space to get a non-breaking space; also the usual keys for m-space and n-space do not work. (But they work, alle of them, in other applications.)

And there's no hint in Nisus Help about those topics.
