Q1. When opening MS Word files, most are not well formated. When use other software not MS Word or Nisus they are ok, why ?

Q2. Why Nisus always opens the files first, can I stop that? I want to use Nisus for certain work other software for other type.

Q1. When opening MS Word files, most are not well formated. When use other software not MS Word or Nisus they are ok, why ?

MS Word files must undergo a conversion process before we can open them. This conversion is not perfect, so we will always do a better job opening the same document saved in RTF format.

Q2. Why Nisus always opens the files first, can I stop that? I want to use Nisus for certain work other software for other type.

Yes, you can control which application opens ".doc" files by default. In the Finder:

1. Select any ".doc" file.
2. Use the menu File > Get Info.
3. In the section titled "Open with", change the popup menu so it says MS Word (or whatever program you wish).
4. Click the Change All button and confirm the change.
