Font selection panel does not update

In Nisus Writer 2.6 you can open the font panel, and use it to change the currently selected font, but if you select another part of the document with a different font, the panel selection does not get updated.
This happens only with the font panel: the font menu are correctly updated to show current values when selection changes.

Pages and TextEdit have the "correct" behavior: is the Nisus one intentional, or it's a bug?

Actually it's the "font panel", the one you get when you do cmd-T.

I guess a related problem is you can only open this front panel with Cmd-t

trying to open it from the menubar
