I recently upgraded to NWX 2.5. One thing that happened is that the page number in draft view in the statusbar has disappeared. It will reappear when I switch to Page View, but will go away once I return to draft view.
Is there some setting I'm not seeing that can restore this?
Missing current page in draft view
Status Bar Bug
Not according to the NWX 2.5 documentation where it says about the status bar:MacSailor wrote:Draft view is draft view and page view is page view. That's as simple as that.![]()
Draft - no page numbers, page view - page numbers.
"The far left of the Statusbar indicates the current (displayed) page number of the total pages of the document. When in Draft View this indicates the total number of pages in your document as counted based on the margins of Page View."
So the current & total page number should appear even in Draft View. As I recall that's how it worked in 2.1.x too. Looks like a bug.
Status Bar Bug
I raised this with Nisus support and as usual they came back quickly with a response:
"The change was made late in the development of the documentation (after most of the screen shots had been made). As you can imagine, when no *pages* display, it's hard to determine what page you're looking at in Draft View.
We may find a way to restore this in a future version."
After that I dug out my old copy of NWX 2.1.3 and checked how it worked -- in draft view it shows the total number of pages in the document but not the page number you are currently on, that only appears in Page View. So the change in 2.5 is that now in Draft View you no longer get even the total number of pages in the document, which is a real pity...

It seems like the page number of the cursor's location would make some sense. While you can scroll past the cursor (a potential confusion), it seems like the most useful information in the circumstances to me.
