Formatting footnotes

Post by Jzents »

I have commented on this before but it is still the same in b5. There is no way to modify the style of the footnote number in the note itself without messing up the superscripted number in the text. I hope that there are plans to address this in the near future. I need to be able to make the number in the note not superscripted, that is, normal. Thank you.

We know it's something people want to do easily, but for the upcoming release (2.5) I don't think we'll have this feature. So right now you are stuck doing it manually, eg: remove the "superscript" attribute from the "Footnote Reference" character style. Then superscript the reference number in the document body.

That's a real disappointment. I realize it's not a mission critical issue, but it's really annoying to have to look at a document set in Times New Roman that has Verdana footnote reference numbers.

I suspect that is partly because in NWX it appears that footnoting is implimented almost completely via styles, whereas in Word or NeoOffice while there are styles for the note number etc., the footnote feature is not implimented via the styles. I am just guessing on this and would love one of the Nisus people to confirm or correct my impression. Cheers!
