Footnote formats
Footnote formats
I have noticed that there seems to be no way to control the format of the footnote reference number in the note itself separately from the reference number in the text. This is a problem as many stylesheets for academic writing want the number in the note text to be on the baseline and not superscripted. Is there a chance we can get this feature added.

I can't even change the font of the note #.Jzents wrote:I have noticed that there seems to be no way to control the format of the footnote reference number in the note itself separately from the reference number in the text. Well I can change the font, but it really has no effect on the way the numbers look. For example, I can change it to Zapf Dingbats and it will tell me that the number is in that font. But the way it looks is unaffected by that. You can "change" the font for the note number by changing the font in the "Footenote Reference" style. That style does have some effect on the way the note numbers display. If you change the font color, that will show up in the way the footnote number are displayed, alas both in the text and in the footnote itself. These need to have seperate controls, with the only thing in common being the number itself--the note number and the number in the text being the same number--but that is all the commonality that should be forced on the writer.
