There must be a way that I have overlooked!
I would like to preset the start up "new" page to a specific size for my monitor.
It presently defaults to 117%, displays only half of the page, and appears in the lower half of the screen. I would like to see the complete page at 128% with the page displaying at the top of the screen, so no further physical modification would be required. There are additional formatting chaacteristics which would be nice .. eg it now defaults to 6 pt after spacing.
Thanks!

You can set the size/zoom of your new files (as well as many other things):
1. Open up the preferences window for Nisus Writer Express.
2. Select the "New Document" pane.
3. Choose the "Advanced" tab.
4. Click the "Edit File..." button.
5. Resize and zoom the window however you like.
6. Save the file (command-S will work).
All future documents you create should now have the same window size/zoom.
To change the paragraph settings, you can also work with the file directly as you did for the window size/zoom, but there is an easier way. In step 3 (in the list above) visit the "Format" tab. You can make all your alterations there.

I'm using NWE 2.1.2 under Panther (10.3.9). I'm downloading 2.1.3 as I type. I also have 2.5a installed.
To be truthful, this is not a big issue for me since I don't change Page Zoom very often. However, to change subjects ever so slightly, what I would like to see is an option in the Page View palette (and the View menu) to Fit Margins in Window. Selecting this option would adjust (a) page zoom and (b) the horizontal scroll position so that the left and right margins fit just inside the window's frame. In my PWP (previous word processor, WordPerfect for Windows), I habitually viewed my documents at the "Margin Width" setting and found this the optimal setting for almost everything except mailing labels. Possibly this would also make secac happy.
