Envelopes: a quasi-newbie question

Post by ericb »

This may be staring me in the face but I don't see it. Is there a reasonably simple way to print an envelope with NWE? I was beating my head against the problem yesterday, first using NWE, then Mellel, then finally Appleworks-- which worked like a champ. Much as I really hate to admit it, there are certain things I miss about Word...(aargh!). Thanks in advance. -Eric

To format and print envelopes:

1. Choose Page Setup from the File menu.

2. In the Page Setup dialog choose the appropriate size envelop you need (#10 is common) from the Paper Size pop-up menu and click the Orientation button that matches the way in which you printer expects to receive paper (as illustrated). Then click OK.

3. Drag the left margin of the body of the envelop as far out as you like.

4. Drag the top margins of the header of the envelop as far up as you like.

5. Type your return address in the Header.

6. Put your insertion point the the body portion of the document window and drag the ruler in to the right as desired (as illustrated in the envelope above).

7. At this point you may want to save the file as a template document.

8. Type your recipient's address in the body of the document.

9. Put an envelope in the printer tray and choose Print from the File menu.

Marc- many thanks. I had to play with it a while before I realized that the "page setup" dropdown was only showing me the first four paper size options. I reinstalled the program and now they're all showing, including the envelope. No idea why this occurred, but thanks to your feedback I can now make envelopes-- Yeeee Haaah!

Hello,
We have just moved to Nisus Express. I downloaded the program and purchased family pack license. Envelops do not show in the menu as described in the post above. Does that mean I reinstall from the download or.....?
Thank you
