Activating section numbering

Post by Tanster »

Is there some trick to number the sections, sub-sections, sub-sub-sections, etc, in a document? I've inserted the section number using Insert->Automatic Number->Section Number followed by the title of the section and then the actual text of the section but every section just displays the initial number in the selected numbering scheme (i.e. A, 1, a, etc). What am I doing wrong? And how do I get sub- and sub-sub-sections to number correctly? Help!

Hi:

You can make the sections increment by inserting section breaks into your text. To do this, choose where you want your new section to begin and choose an option from the Insert->Section Break menu.

Currently, we do not support any automatic numbering beyond this kind and page numbers. We are working on automatic numbers for our next release, however, so stay tuned!

Only section numbering?

Post by Tanster »

Thank you.

I hope you come out with automatic sub section and sub sub section, etc, numbering soon. Otherwise Nisus is going to be pretty useless to many people who write technical books.
