Times New Roman

Post by mrennie »

Hi there. After trying NWX for some time, I decided to buy it, and I'm really happy with it. I did notice one thing, though, and I'd like to know if someone can explain this to me. My standard font is Times New Roman, 12 pt. When I open a NWX RTF document in Word 2004, the font has changed, it's no longer Times New Roman, but TimesNewRomanPSMT. This font looks roughly the same, but still, it's got different spacings, and some letters look intertwined. Setting the font back to TNR solves the problem. Does Word use a different version of TNR? I know that Word 2004 uses some Unicode fonts, and I think TNR is one of them, so is that the solution?

I do not know about Word 2004, but Word v.x have had some problems with the fonts. I believe, but not sure, that it’s Microsoft that has to fix their way to handle fonts and especially the way they are showing or recognizing the font names.

That’s my guess... :?
