I wrote a dissertation on Homeric epic using NW 6.5. Now I want to revise it for publication, but it looks like discrepancies in treatments of fonts mean that I can't simply convert to 2.1 w/o losing all of my Greek quotations to gobbledygook. Is this truly the case? Do I have to continue using 6.5 for all old docs w/ Greek text if I don't want to spend an incredible amount of time on formatting alone?
TIA,
Nick Dobson
converting font formatting from NW 6.5 --> NWE 2.1?
Not having used 6.5, I won't pretend to be an expert, but there was an earlier discussion on the forum about the difference between how NW 6.5 (and Mac OS 9 and earlier) handles Greek and how NWE (and Mac OS X) handles it. You can read the exchange here.

In addition to Craig's great pointer, you should also make sure that font is available on your OS X machine also. The only way Nisus Writer can know how to decode the characters in your Nisus Classic files is to use the information found in the font. Thus, if that font is not available is will make a guess but it will probably be wrong and you will get garbage. This is a limitation of the old Classic file format.

Problems importing docs from 6.0 to Express
I have a booklet, composed in 6.0 and want to convert it to Express. It goes through the conversion process, and gets stuck at one point. It never completes the task.
Any suggestions?
