I recently downloaded the trial version of Nisus Writer. I'm running Panther on a 1Ghz iMac with 768 MB RAM.

I have a large document (novel) of almost 90,000 words. Writer seems to bog down badly when I open the document. Any drop down menu command starts the spinning color wheel and it's 10-20 seconds before I get a response. I don't know if Writer is overloaded, or there's something I need to do to speed it up.

I'm sorry about the slowness of my response.

Please increase the memory allocation for Nisus Writer Classic. That should help.

I'm trying out Nisus Express, using Jaguar 10.3.3. I don't think there's a way to increase memory.

Indeed, you are in the wrong area of the forum. This area is for Nisus Writer Classic which does require differing amounts of memory.

Nisus Writer Express is "simply" not yet optimized for large documents. Sorry about that.
