Nisus Writer Pro (NWP) versions 2.0.1 and later use modified LibreOffice code to help with the conversion of certain file formats. Under the LibreOffice licenses any modified copies of the source code must be published and made available. The source code of the LibreOffice derived tool used by Nisus Writer can be downloaded below.
The tool built from the modified LibreOffice code listens for file translation requests coming from Nisus Writer. The specific communication channel used for these requests varies. In prior versions Distributed Notification were used; the current version uses Mach ports. However the request is detected, the normal LibreOffice document objects load the file and output the converted data using the desired format.
Additionally, the code below includes some fixes to LibreOffice's RTF export, which Nisus Writer relies upon to import translated data.
