Nisus® Software Newsletter
May 21, 2015

In this letter:

Greetings From Nisus Land
"The New MacBook Is A Trojan Horse!"

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m a lazy, lazy man. I don’t really have anything to add to that, I just wanted to say it.

Now that I’ve said it, I can get on with this newsletter.

I got a chance to try out the new MacBook at an Apple Store the other day. Is it just me, or does the MacBook look and feel like a grown up iPad Air? Seriously, it feels to me as if I’m typing on glass. The back of it looks just like the back of an iPad. Plus... one port! Is Apple trying to tell us something here?

Have any of you purchased the new MacBook? If so, please write in and let us know. I’m really interested in actual user comments.

The rest of the newsletter is below. We have status updates on some of our apps, and a small bit about Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.1.

Enjoy!

Nisus Updates
"We're Working Hard For You"

Now that Pro 2.1.1 is out, I’d like to talk about other things we are working on here at Nisus.

First up is InfoClick. Version 1.2 has just gone into beta testing. The focus of this version was adding new, highly requested features along with fixes and enhancements. InfoClick 1.2 should be released in weeks, but that’s dependent on how long the beta period will last. You just never know with these things.

Nisus Writer Express 3.5 should also be out fairly soon. This new version gains OS X Auto Save and Versions like its big brother, plus the usual bug fixes and enhancements. This also should be released soon, so stay tuned.

Lastly, I’d like to write about the Mac App Store situation. At this point, we are still working with Apple to get Pro 2.1.1 into the store. There are a few technical hurdles to overcome, and I can’t even begin to guess when Pro will be approved by Apple. Hopefully it will be soon, but we have no idea at this time.

So that’s the update. Stay tuned to this newsletter for more news.

Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.1
"New Update, Good Update"

Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.1 has been released. Wait… you knew that. Still, if you haven’t updated you should.

This new version increases stability and fixes a few issues that have been found since the release of Nisus Writer Pro 2.1. We strongly encourage you to update because if you don’t our feelings will be hurt. I refuse to apologize for being in touch with my feelings!

Seriously, if you own any version of Pro 2 and have at least OS X 10.7.5, you should update. You can do so from within Nisus Writer Pro (from the “Nisus Writer Pro” menu select “Check for Updates” and follow the instructions) or you can download the update from the Pro download page. Either way, it won’t cost you anything. It’s a free update for anyone who owns any version of Pro 2.x. If you are a completist the release notes can be found on the Pro release notes page.

If you don’t yet own Nisus Writer Pro 2.1.1, you can purchase from our store for $79. Upgrades from Pro 1.x are $49. A three license Family Pack is available for only $99.

So if you don’t want to make me cry, please update your Pro 2.x to Pro 2.1.1.
