Nisus® Software Newsletter
October 16, 2014

In this letter:

Greetings From Nisus Land
"Website Down, Website Up"

So far, I have to say this week could have gone better. Our website was down for about a day and a half. I’ll try to explain what happened without getting too technical.

We got a notice about a week ago from our web host that our web server was going to be upgraded to a newer version of Ubuntu. This in itself is not a bad thing. However, when the upgrade was completed our website was broken. The upgrade broke our PHP configuration and it took quite a while to diagnose the issue and get it all working again. Finally, it looks like things are stable and all of our web pages and forum are now working properly.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are also very appreciative of the emails we received from some of you. Thank you for that.

As for the rest of the newsletter, we have news on Yosemite compatibility and an interesting review of Nisus Writer Pro.

Yosemite Compatibility
"Looking Good!"

Now that we are on the cusp of the release of OS X 10.10, or Yosemite, it’s time we talk about compatibility with the new OS and our products.

We ran many tests with the latest GM candidate of Yosemite and our current release versions of Nisus Writer Express, Pro, Thesaurus, and InfoClick. We have not found any issues: they all seem to be working as they should. We will test again with the release version when that is posted but I can’t say we anticipate any changes that would affect compatibility.

So if you are one of the brave early adopters of a new OS, feel free to use the latest versions of our apps with confidence. They should work as expected. However, if you do run into an unexpected problem, please let us know by sending feedback from within our apps or write to our support team. Your fellow early adopters will thank you.

Nisus Writer Pro
"The Kansas City Royals (2014) of Word Processing"

I have seen many reviews in my time with Nisus, but I haven’t seen one quite like this. Entitled “Nisus Writer Pro: The (2014) Kansas City Royals of Word Processing” the article goes on to describe his discovery and usage of Pro in a way that… well, as the author states “Nisus Writer Pro is to my word processing what the Kansas City Royals are to baseball right now: fresh, fun, powerful, and totally adept at getting the job done.”

(For those of you who do not follow American sports, let alone baseball, the Kansas City Royals have not lost a game this post season as of this writing.)

The entire review can be found on the author's blog.

So enjoy the review, and if you haven’t yet, purchase Nisus Writer Pro.

Gotta love those baseball analogies. Well, I do anyway.
