Nisus® Software Newsletter
August 27, 2014

In this letter:

Greetings From Nisus Land
"Writing Software Is Hard"

Writing software is hard. How do I know this? I'm a doctor, that's how [he's not actually a doctor]. Plus, I've seen how hard our developers work and watched a few of them lose it. The other day I watched a good employee jump through a window. This was odd since he was on the first floor at the time and the window was open. I would have helped but I was watching a Simpsons marathon at the time and I couldn't be bothered. Plus, the cat was using me both as a pillow and a day bed.

Nevertheless, the above preamble means we are getting close to another release.

As I've written previously, the next release of Nisus Writer Pro will be 64 bit, will have iCloud support, and will be sandboxed. Those of you who will be early OS X 10.10 adopters will find support for iCloud Drive. There will be bug fixes and other stuff that we are currently finalizing. We hope to have this release finished before the OS X 10.10 release.

The minimum requirement for the upcoming Pro 2.1 release is OS X 10.7.5. If you are still a 10.7.5 user you may have to install this 10.7.5 supplemental update, which fixed a few issues with developer code signing that prevented some applications from opening. I say may because it appears that Apple rolled the supplement release into a later 10.7.5 release.

As the release gets closer I'll write more. In the meantime, I have a newsletter to present.

Back To School Sale
"Limited Time Offer!"

I'm not a fan of this time of the year. It's hot! Why is it hot? And don't get me started on humidity!

Anyway, what I do like about late summer is the kids go back to school. That means we can all build our bank accounts once again after buying school supplies, refilling the pantry and refrigerator, and paying off your bookie. Well, that last part is just me perhaps, but you get the idea.

Since it is that time of the year when parents and students gear up for school (and we citizens get to take back our streets!) we are having, for a limited time, a sale on Nisus Writer Express, Nisus Writer Pro, and InfoClick. In other words, a 25% off Back To School promo.

The sale runs through September 1, so order early and often. There are no coupon codes, just go to our store or the Mac App Store and the items on sale will be discounted. For example, Nisus Writer Pro is $59 (regular price $79), Nisus Writer Express is $34 (regular price $45), and InfoClick is $11 (regular price $15). Upgrades and Family Packs are also on sale exclusively in our store.

This sale ends on September 1, so don't wait. If you are looking to upgrade your writing tools, now is the time.

Oh, and please tell your Mac using friends about this sale. Remember, friends don't let friends use (fill in the blank).

InfoClick Named Macworld Gem

InfoClick was reviewed recently on Macworld and named a Macworld Gem. The review, titled "InfoClick review: Find what you're looking for in Apple Mail" Dan Miller calls InfoClick "… essentially a supercharged search tool for Mail" and in his conclusion says "… if you find yourself constantly searching for (and not finding) messages in Mail, InfoClick could make your life a lot easier."

You can read the entire review at the Macworld site.

Remember, InfoClick is currently on sale. There is no better time to buy!
