Greetings From Nisus Land
"Redesigned Web Site"
I was hoping this would be my last newsletter. You see, there was a job opening that I applied for. I am not going to lie: I really nailed that interview. However, I was passed over for someone who was actually qualified. I am outraged I tell you. Outraged!
Anyway, since I am writing this I thought I would tell you all about our website. We have completed a redesign of the Nisus website. It's more modern, more interactive, and mobile friendly. It also contains lanolin and it's also a desert topping. (Please note that our website does not contain lanolin and is not a desert topping).
We have also beefed up our support pages so you can find the things you need to find faster. We also moved the License lookup tool to our main support page.
So please, stop by, have a look, and enjoy. Even on your mobile device.
It's good to be in the 21st century again.
Nisus Writer Pro
"Actual News"
We are currently working on an update for Nisus Writer Pro. This update, Pro 2.0.5, will be a bug fix update. It is currently in alpha testing but should soon be in beta. Hopefully release will come in a few weeks. Watch our blog for more details as they become available.
In the meantime, Nisus Writer Pro is available now in our store and the Mac App Store for $79. Upgrades are available on the Nisus store for $49. A three license family pack is available for $99.
So if you haven't yet upgraded from Pro 1.x, or Express, now is as good a time as any to enjoy all of the great features of Pro 2. You don't need to use the behemoth from Redmond. We have over 20 years of experience on the Mac platform. Being a long time developer we know how to support you after the purchase. We won't abandon you after you buy.
If you need a great word processor, please buy and support a long time Mac developer. You will not be sorry.
Nisus Writer Pro requires OS X 10.6.6.
InfoClick
"More Praise"
Speaking of updates, InfoClick will soon be receiving an update of its own. InfoClick 1.1 is also a bug fix release that is also in alpha testing. Beta testing should come very quickly and if everything goes well, a general release will come soon after.
However, I am getting ahead of myself. InfoClick is a pretty solid app right now. Just ask Kathelin Gray, who wrote to us a few weeks ago and said the following:
"I love Infoclick! I can finally search - and FIND what I need to in Mail. You guys are saviours!"
Short, sweet, and to the point. Thank you, Kathelin!
To see why she is full of praise, please visit our InfoClick page. You can download the 15 day fully working demo, or purchase InfoClick from that page or from the Mac App Store for only $15.
If you are tired of not being able to find your emails, InfoClick is for you. Buy now and end your mail searching frustration!
InfoClick requires OS X 10.6.6.
Tips and Tricks
"A Quick Hunspell Tip"
Rock Strongo here and I have a quick tip for installing Hunspell and using it with Nisus Writer Express and Pro. I have to be honest here when I say that I didn't actually write this as I was uninterested. A Nisus employee who shall never be named (Martin W.) wrote this up on our Pro FAQ.
As of Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) the Hunspell dictionaries are supported. There are many places on the web to find Hunspell dictionaries, but this is a good place to start. They are relatively easy to install, but there do not seem to be any simple to understand instructions. Hopefully this will make it easy for everyone to install these dictionaries.
You should now see the installed dictionary in your Nisus Writer language preferences.
For a fully illustrated (pictures and everything!) version of this tip visit our Pro FAQ.
If you have any questions or comments on this tip, or anything else please let us know.
