Greetings From Nisus Land
"Mac App Store News"
Grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. That's what I am. It's too hot (it's October!), too humid, and too... whatever. However, thanks to Apple, I have one less reason to be grumpy today.
That's because Apple has finally approved Nisus Writer Pro 2.0.4 for the Mac App Store. That's right, Apple finally approved our app after... too many days to count. I'm not sure why I am complaining though. It's not like anyone else is seeing approval delays.
Anyway, you can update or purchase the latest version of Nisus Writer Pro through the app store. I can now sleep at night.
I'm not in a celebratory mood, but having said that let's celebrate! For three days we are going to put Nisus Writer Pro on sale in our store and the Mac App Store. From now until Sunday Pro is on sale for $59. That's a $20 savings over the list price of $79. For those of you upgrading the cost is $39 (regular price $49).
If you have ever wanted to purchase Pro now is the time. You had better hurry, though, as this sale ends on Sunday at 11:59 PDT.

"We Get Letters Part 26"
Yes, we get letters. Lot's of them. I would like to share one with you now:
Hi,Please forgive the intrusion. But... I'm a prof of computer & information science working in many domains and several languages. With the exception of being able to create formulae easily (but then perhaps this feature exists but I've missed it), I love Nisus Writer! Have used it for years... and I recommend it to students, to colleagues and I'm about ready to add a link from my homepage to nisus.com!
Long before Microsoft (and even Apple) got acts together for reliable multilingual support, Nisus made it possible for me to work as I wanted to and get the results needed. Sure at times it was difficult but still vastly better than others! Other can keep OpenOffice and similar projects and others... I'll keep to Nisus.
So, nothing but good thoughts to the folks who created Nisus! Faithful fan! Now, we if we had formulae and Ruby input, wow!
Thanks for your time.

Tips and Tricks
"Word Count Tricks"
Rock Strongo here with another trick to keep you informed and to keep me employed.
A customer wanted to know the following:
"Hi Nisus: How do I get a running word count without having to go through tools etc and add to the end of the text..."
Good question. I have a good answer I hope.
You can put the word count in every new document by editing the Nisus New File. The header or footer are great places for this kind of information. To do this, follow these easy steps:
From then on every new document will have the word count placed in the header or footer.
I should say that if you don't want to do this another solution is to use the statistics palette as a floating palette. Just grab the palette's title and drag it to the desktop. Either way, both solutions are good and useful.
If you have a suggestion for a tip or a trick write to us at comments@nisus.com. We would love to hear from you.
