Before I start this newsletter I have to say something: snickerdoodle! There, I said it. Now I can continue.

We receive many emails. Some of these emails have very nice things to say about us and our products. It's true, and I can prove it, smarty pants!

User Robert Wolff says, "One of the reasons I use Nisus now almost for everything is your support. Fabulous!"

R.M. Weisman has this to say: "Nisus is the best, most user-friendly, and most helpful software program I have ever used, and you continue making it better. Its people are the kindest on earth. I would not be able to do the difficult work I do without it. I cannot thank everyone at Nisus enough."

That's just a couple of examples of nice things people say about us and our products. This newsletter gets a bit silly at times but I am serious when I say that our users are great and we love to hear your comments, good or bad. You can send us an email to comments@nisus.com.

Express and Pro 2 Updates
"We Live To Update"

For some reason beyond my scope it appears that some of you did not receive the news that both Express and Pro 2 have been updated. This is a shame since these latest updates fix a few bugs, add a localization, and fix a few more bugs.

Nisus Writer Pro 2.0.2 addresses a few Lion issues, stability issues, a fix for Word Perfect import, adds a Brazilian Portuguese localization, and fixes a few select bugs.

Nisus Writer Express 3.4.1 has also been released and addresses most of the same issues as Pro 2.0.2.

Both of these updates are free for users of Pro 2.x and Express 3.x. They both require at least Mac OS X 10.4.11.

Nisus Writer Express and Nisus Writer Pro are available for purchase at our store. Nisus Writer Pro 2.0.2 is $79, or $49 for the upgrade from Pro 1.x. Express 3.4.1 is $45, or $30 for the upgrade from Express 1 or 2. There are also family packs available (three licenses) and for Pro, CDs are available for an extra $10 plus shipping.

Nisus Writer Express and Nisus Writer Pro are also available at the Mac App Store.

So eat, drink, and be merry but also update your copies of Express and Pro.

Tips And Tricks
"Pleading For A Pleading Page"

Rock Strongo here, and I have dealt with enough lawyers in my time to know the requirements for pleading pages in several states.

Anyway, let's talk pleading page templates. Lawyer Victor Oswald Jones III asks the following question:

Victor, I am happy to say that you can now produce in Nisus Writer Pro a pleading page that meets the requirements of the courts in your state.

In our forum a user from the state of Oregon had the following requirements:

• The numbers 1 through 26 appear in the left-hand margin, regardless of the actual lines of text on the page.
• Double vertical lines separating the line numbering from the left-hand margin.
• A single vertical line separating text from the right-hand margin.
• Every page needs to have items 1-3 exactly identical, regardless of the number of pages in the document or each page's individual content.

Requirements fulfilled although number 1 was particularly tough, but thanks to our crack staff (OK, it was me but I am too modest to admit it) we found the solution using the newly added watermarks feature in Pro 2. This solution solved the issue for our forum user and should solve the problem for you Lawyer Jones.
