In this letter:

Greetings From Nisus Land
"Nisus Writer Pro 1.4 Now Available"

Soon after the release of the first beta version of Nisus Writer Pro 1.3.1, I received an email from engineering asking to test a new version of Pro. I wrote back and said I was testing the new version. Apparently, that wasn't the only version I should have been testing.

We are happy to announce the release of Nisus Writer Pro 1.4. This version introduces several built-in menus that replace the macros that ship with Bookends. This means that you can scan your documents, find references, insert citations, and switch to Bookends by using the new menu items (Insert > Bibliography).

You will need to use the latest version of Bookends (10.6.1) and Nisus Writer Pro 1.4 to take advantage of these new features.

You can download this new version from our Nisus Writer Pro download page, or just launch your current version of Nisus Writer Pro and use the menu Nisus Writer Pro > Check for Updates.

Nisus Writer Pro is a Universal Binary and requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or above.

This release is a free update to current license holders of Nisus Writer Pro. For everyone else, you can purchase Nisus Writer Pro for $79, or $45 for the upgrade version. A Family Pack (three licenses) is available for $99. You can purchase a CD of any of these versions for an additional $10.

A printed manual is available for $25 plus shipping.

Nisus Writer Pro is a Universal Binary and requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or above.

Nisus Thesaurus 1.0.7
"Services Fully Restored"

Nisus Thesaurus 1.0.6, released a few weeks ago, brought back Services functionality for users on Snow Leopard. However, it didn't quite work for everyone. So, if you are one of those that doesn't have Services functionality, Nisus Thesaurus 1.0.7 is for you. This release should work anywhere it is supposed to.

You can download Nisus Thesaurus 1.0.7 from the Nisus Thesaurus product page.

Nisus Thesaurus is a Universal Binary and requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or above.

Tips and Tricks
"Rock Strongo Rambles Again"

Rock Strongo here, ready to answer another email from one of our users. No, really. It's true!

Mr. E.I.E.I. Owens of Universal City, California writes:

"I want to select, copy, and delete some text with some formatting applied. How do I do this without pulling out what's left of my hair. Can I do this, or is it just impossible?"

If I understand your question, you can do this.

With all the text selected, you can either reformat it all at once using the normal menus/palettes, or delete it all by pressing the "Delete" key.

Does that help? I hope it does.

I'll be back again at some point (once I am approved for work release) with even more tips for you to use.
