Nisus® Software Newsletter

In this letter:

Greetings From Nisus Land
Healthy? Who Needs That?

Look, I like food, OK? Not like this, because I said food. I have no idea what that barbecued mess is about. More like this, actually . Yeah, it is a heart attack waiting to happen, but still, it's good stuff!

Such temptation!

I don't know how you healthy people do it. I look around and see, especially where I am located, way too many fit, strong people running and doing various forms or exercise. Why do you people insist on torturing us lazy, out of shape folks?

Well, after putting up with this for way too long, I have decided that I too need to be fit, strong, and forgive me please, healthy.

I have taken up smoking with the idea of quitting, just so I can look cool. I actually set foot in a gym for the first time since High School. However, I didn't stay long. Too many people sweating profusely. Just the other day I went for a run. One mile! OK, so it took 5 hours and I nearly passed out a few times, but the point is that I did it and lived to tell the tale.

Such as it is.

Yeah, I know I am out of shape, but that's what makes me ... well, me. If I got into shape, I would actually have to work at it. And, as long time readers of this newsletter know, work just isn't my thing.

Maybe I should just go back to being a layabout.

In other news, we have updated Nisus Writer Express. Look below for details.

In the meantime, I will lay here in my hammock and wait for my bailout money.

Looks like I might have a long wait.

Nisus Writer Express 3.2
Shiny and New

I am very happy to annouce that we have released an update to Nisus Writer Express. This new version, which we like to call Express 3.2, adds new features such as editable document properties (author, company, copyright, etc.), additional backup options, control over smart quotes on a per-language basis, and a preference to choose the default file format for new documents.

We also added the Sparkle framework to manage our updates, and the Services menu which allows creating a new Nisus Writer Express document from selected content in another application.

Oh, and there are bug fixes and other good stuff as well. The full list of features and fixes can be read at our Nisus Writer Express release notes page:

http://nisus.com/express/releasenotes.php

You can purchase Nisus Writer Express 3.2 at our web store for only $45.00. An upgrade from previous versions of Express (versions 1 and 2) is $30.00. A three license Family Pack is also available for $79.00.

This release is a free update to current license holders of Nisus Writer Express 3.x

Nisus Writer Express 3.2 is a universal binary and requires Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) or later.

I don't think I left anything out, but just in case, you may want to swing over to the Express page for all of the nitty gritty details.

Nisus Writer Pro Printed Manual

Back when Nisus Writer Pro was in the development stage, our guy who writes the manual ... let's call him Rock (not his real name ... yeah, right) ... wanted to produce a manual that could be printed. To be truthful, we liked the idea, but we were skeptical that he would see it through, owing to his rather interesting approach to writing, meeting deadlines, and hygiene.

Many months later it was finished, and if that wasn't shocking enough, it turns out that it was pretty useful as well. Since then he has managed to update it to the latest version of Pro, 1.2.

We are very happy to offer the Nisus Writer Pro Printed Manual for only $25 plus shipping. It can be purchased from our store.

So, for those who need a big book (like me!) to read through the details, this is for you.
