A Keynote Without Steve? That's Unpossible!

As I reflect upon my life, I am very happy with my accomplishments. For example, I am the one who turned cats and dogs against each other. Doubt me? Hey, look it up. I also wrote many of the great Beatles songs, including "I Want To Hold Your Breath", "Ouch!", and "What Ever Happened To Pete Best?"

Now, that has nothing to do with anything, but I just thought I would share.

Getting on to the business at hand, it's Macworld Expo week. Seems kind of odd without Steve Jobs (Steve to his friends, Your Highness to everyone else) giving the keynote. In fact, Macworld just seems kind of ... I don't know, anti-climactic?

Look, listening and watching the keynote is generally the highlight. Being there in person is almost magical. El Jobso is almost hypnotic in this setting. A Stevenote is one of those rare things that everyone should see. A Philnote? Hmmm ... maybe not so much. But, we will all find out on the 6th, right?

I am thinking about getting one for work.

Anyway, I will be there as usual, but I have to admit it will be a bit different. Oh well, I will just make the best of it.

I should tell you that we decided not to attend as a company this year. That means no booth. It isn't that we did not want to attend, but this is a business in the end. In these uncertain times, it is hard to justify the expense. There is a reason companies like Apple are pulling out of these shows. Too much expense, too little return.

However,it doesn't mean that we won't be there in spirit, or actually be on the ground in the facility. Personally, it is a major blow to me. But, at the same time, I do not have to go through the rigorous security measures designed to keep me out.

So I have that going for me.

If I do manage to get in (and I will, believe me), please feel free to look me up. I will probably be sleeping in a booth, or holed up in one of the many restaurants that surround the Moscone Center.
