So I'll bet you are wondering why I am sending out another newsletter so soon after the last one. Well, it isn't because I wanted to, that's for sure. It's because I have to. Do you think I really wanted to do this? Look, I have other things on my plate. I am in rehearsal for Guys and Dolls (I play both Nathan Detroit and Miss Adelaide!) and I had a manicure scheduled. Now I have to cancel the manicure. .
I hope you are happy now!
None of this would have happened if certain people would have listened to me. Slow down, I said. Take it easy, let's not rush into things. But no, we need to get it out, they said. Something about money, and paying bills É I don't know, I wasn't paying attention.
All I know is that I didn't get my way, and now I am not happy. I am the talent around here, they should listen to me and let me have my way.
Is that too much to ask?
Nisus Writer Pro 1.1 Now Available
"New Features, New Fixes, Same Price"
We are very happy to announce the release of Nisus Writer Pro 1.1. This new version is available now for download and purchase.
We would like to thank all of you who have contributed, whether it be submitting bugs, comments, or just general complaining. We appreciate all of your feedback.
As you probably know, Nisus Writer Pro 1.1 adds new features such as Comments, Mail Merge, and Go to Page. Those of you who used Classic Nisus Writer will appreciate the addition a large caret option, and many additions and enhancements to the Nisus Macro Language.
But did you know that we added Danish and Polish localizations? Neither did I, until I was reminded about it the other day. Those new languages are in addition to French, German, Italian, and Spanish. I wanted them to add Vulcan, but no one listens to me anymore.
We have also added the ability to read .docx and .odt files. That feature requires Mac OS X 10.5.x. More on that feature in our Tips and Tricks section below.
The cost of Nisus Writer Pro 1.1 is only $79. A three license Family Pack is $99. You can purchase a CD for an additional $10. For those of you who are current licensed users of Pro, this update is free.
Nisus Writer Pro 1.1 is a Universal Binary and requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and above.

Tips and Tricks
.docx, .odt, and Pro 1.1
Rock Strongo here, and that's a good thing. I say that because I have noticed that this newsletter is a little dry, and I am here to make it ... um, less so.
Anyway, as said above, Nisus Writer Pro can now open .docx and .odt files. This really needs to be clarified, because I don't want people writing to support complaining. I get enough of that around here and at home!
The first thing you need to know is that in order to use this, you need to have Mac OS X 10.5 or above. It definitely does not work on Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4).
Now for the technical stuff: In order to open these files, we are using the Apple supplied translators. That's right, the same translators that are (probably) used in TextEdit. That's not a bad thing, but there are some caveats. The text comes through just fine, thank you. But, you lose all but basic formatting. Yup, just like TextEdit.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Now back to your Twittering and speculating on the new iPhone. I will go back to drinking adult drinks while juggling spare parts for my Hupmobile.
