You know what's worse than being a flasher? Being a flasher and having people who see you laugh uncontrollably. That's no picnic, believe me.
Now on to other business. Martha Stewart, or her cyborg (hey, who can really tell?) is the proud owner of a MacBook Air. And to think I really wanted to own one of those machines. I can now scratch that off my list.
So how many of you folks own one of these? I keep reading that the Air will be a flop because it lacks an optical drive, many, many ports, it's too big, it's too small, blah, blah, blah. I heard this same sort of complaining last year when the iPhone was released. How is that going, huh guys? Yeah, that's what I thought. Judging by the number of MacBook Air machines you see at airports, coffee shops, and bookstores, it seems that the Air may not be the flop some made it out to be.
While I am ranting, let me just ask why people who are writing to online forums or mailing lists add things like "My half-baked solution works better than the Apple solution (Apple, are you listening?)". Well, no, they aren't listening. You know why? Because you aren't writing to them! How about this: if you have a complaint for Apple, or Microsoft, or Nisus, how about writing to them directly? Who knows, some of us are willing to listen to your complaints.
And that brings me to this: Read below for a preview of Nisus Writer Pro 1.1. We have added a few features that our customers (that would be you guys) have asked for, politely even!

Nisus Writer Pro 1.1 Preview Release
"Comments, Mail Merge, Go to Page, and More!"
We are very happy to announce the release of the Nisus Writer Pro 1.1 Preview Release, otherwise known as a public beta. This new version, which is free to current license holders of Pro, offers several new features.
We have had a number of feature requests for adding comments to Pro. That feature is included in Pro 1.1. We have also added a few things to this feature to make it easier to use. We added a comment history, which is a great way of grouping together related comments. This feature makes it easier to read all of the comments, without cluttering up your document.
You can also collapse and expand comments, and customize them to your heart's content.
Another highly requested feature is Mail Merge. The Mail Merge feature is pretty straightforward, with one twist: You can add custom bits of perl code as a placeholder. This addition adds flexibility and makes it very customizable. You can use the Apple Address Book or a CSV file as your source. You can also preview the final output.
Other smaller features include Go to Page, and a Large Caret option.
For you macro folks, there are a number of new additions. Finally, many bugs have been squashed. Oh, and engineering wants me to add that Pro 1.1 will run faster on Leopard.
The system requirements are Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and above.

You can never have enough fonts. Who says? I do.
That's because I am trying to sell you a font package. That particular font package is called KeyFonts DX. It consists of so many fonts that I don't even know the exact number.
In all seriousness, these are quality fonts, shipped to us via our Japanese partner, Mercury Software. The package consists of thousands of TrueType Fonts that work in Mac OS X, Windows XP, and even Mac OS 9.

"German Translator Needed"
Nisus Software is looking for a German translator for our word processing products. If you can speak and write German, and have a bit of time to do the translation, we are looking for you!
This is a volunteer effort, there is no pay involved. But, you do get a credit in the about box and a free serial number.
