Grettings From Nisus Land
"Express 2.1.3 Release"
Hot on the heels of Nisus Writer Express 2.1.2, ladies and gentlemen we present for your downloading pleasure: Nisus Writer Express 2.1.3.
As our press release says, "This new version contains fixes for issues that were discovered after the release of Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)." Here is the translation for this bit of marketing speak:
Express 2.1.3 exists because our wonderful customers (that would be you guys!) reported some bugs after Tiger was released on April 29. You see, we didn't receive the final version of Tiger until well after most of you. This isn't a knock on Apple, or even Nisus. Apple is trying to prevent pirating, so they released it to developers last.
Remember, we pay big bucks for this privilege.
Anyway, you can download the Express 2.1.3 update from here.
You can also use the "Check for Updates" feature in Nisus Writer Express, located under the "Nisus Writer Express" menu.
Once again, this update is free to current users of Nisus Writer Express. Future users of Express can download the demo at the above page.
Now go forth and download, ya big lugs!
Express Family Pack And Gift Pack
"Giving the Gift of Express"
As Horatio said to Alger "You know, if we combined our names, we would be a lot more famous."
What that has to do with Nisus Software, no one knows. However, I do know this: Along with the other regular flavors of Nisus Writer Express, we also offer the Express Family Pack and the Express Gift Pack.
Have more than one computer in the house? Then the Family Pack is for you. It consists of three licenses for the low price of $99.95 (CD price $109.95). That breaks down to a little over $33.00 per license. That's a great deal, folks.
The Gift Pack is two Express CDs for $80.00 (plus shipping). That's $40.00 per CD, for those of you who are mathematically challenged. Like me. Anyway, with Fathers Day coming up, it makes a wonderful gift for yourself (go ahead, be selfish!) and your father. See, everyone is happy, and there is no guilt. It works out for everyone!
As our President and CEO Jerzy Lewak said to me as I passed by his office the other day "Every day you are still employed here brings me closer to retirement ... and not in a good way!"
What he really meant to say was to take advantage of these fine products, please visit our Express Store Page.
Whew! Job is safe for another day.
The Ensorcelled 7 Sphere
"Time Waster, or Evil Soothsayer?"
Or perhaps a bit of both? Well, to find out, just go to the Ensorcelled 7 Sphere version 1.0 page
http://www.nisus.com/ensorcelled7sphere/
Now people please ... yes or no questions only. Don't ask it for the square root of 256, or how many litres in a yard. Geez!
The Nisus Mailbag
"Answering your email questions since 2004"
We get lots and lots of mail. Really. Sometimes we even answer it. With that said, here is Rock Strongo, fresh from a stay in the California Penal System, to answer some of our voluminous reader email.
From Heidi Croatia of Jolly Ranch, Texas.
Q: Is Express ever going to support right to left input?
A: Does the sun rise in the west? Of course not! However, Nisus Writer Express will fully support right to left input in the next version, Express 2.5.
Monica Switzer of Uptight, Pennsylvania asks:
Q: Why is RTF your default file format? Why didn't you just create your own?
A: Let's see ... for a start, that's two questions. Secondly, have you ever heard of a little thing called interoperability? No? Oh, sorry!
The RTF file format is probably the most widely supported file format out there (notice I said probably!). This very fact makes it easy to write in Express, and send your files to someone who is using another word processor with minimal loss of formatting.
Want to know more about RTF? Why?
Lastly, from a Mr. Kumar of Wembley, United Kingdom:
Q: C'mon, man! Your name isn't Rock Strongo, is it?
A: I don't have to answer these wild allegations ... this column is over!
Keep those cards and emails coming, folks!
