Grettings From Nisus Land
"Special Limted Time Pricing for Classic Nisus Writer Users"
I know that some of you who are using Classic Nisus Writer versions 4.1.6 and 5.x may feel a bit left out.
I apologize for that.
Nisus Writer Express is different from what you are used to, running on an operating system that is also quite different. You may have a lot of questions about Express and how it compares to Classic Nisus Writer. Or, you may wonder why Express even exists.
We have put up an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) that addresses these subjects. I hope that it will be informative, if not a bit illuminating.
So, for those of you who are using Nisus Writer versions 4.1.6 and 5.x we have special pricing on the full version of Express (download or CD versions) for a limited time. The cost is $49.95, and you can order from our Express page.
Just enter the word "classic" in the coupon field and you will see the discount in the shopping cart.
There are many other purchase options available, including an academic version ($39.95) and a Family Pack (three licenses for $99.00) that can be found on this page.
Remember, this is a limited time offer. Now go do this before I change my mind, ya big lugs!
KeyFonts DX
"3007 Fonts, One Low Price"
This font package, KeyFonts DX, contains 3007 fonts. It was going to be 3010 fonts, but I liked how 3007 sounded, so I removed three fonts.
This package contains high quality Truetype - Western Latin 1 (CP 1252)/ANSI fonts that will liven up any newsletter, report, or other documents that need ... well, livening up.
The cost of this CD is $39.95 and this CD can purchased from the KeyFonts product page.
You can also preview those fonts, so you know what you are purchasing.
So purchase KeyFonts DX and write with an enhanced sense of style. Or just do it because I asked, OK?

"Classic Table Tool vs Express Table Tool"
Our man Rock is back, and the good news is that he has had a bath recently, which is good for all of us! This time he answers a question regarding the Classic Nisus Writer Table Tool versus the new Express Table Tool.
John Lorcher of Stoke on Kent asks "Hey, I used to use Nisus Writer Classic and its (ugh) Table Tool. What do I get if I switch to Express?"
So Rock, take it away, and please, please wear a hair net. Thank you.
There was a time when we would say that "we don't do windows, and neither do we do tables".
That changed, however, and Classic Nisus Writer's Tables were based on Tycho, the first table tool made for the Macintosh (released in 1992). While it had a lot of features (especially for such an early application) it was very cumbersome. Tycho was integrated into Nisus Writer Classic for version 4 in 1994. However it continued to function as a separate application and you could not use any of the tools of Nisus Writer with the Table Tool (no multiple undos, macro access, non-contiguous selection... you name it). There was even a time (remembered by some Nisus Writer Classic users) when you might create a table independent of Nisus Writer and have it become separated from your document and for all intents and purposes lost forever.
But, times have changed. Now (while we still don't do "Windoze"), we have a very sleek table tool built into Nisus Writer Express so smoothly that you could say that we even spread the table cloth and set it with fine china.

For the curious, the Nisus Writer Classic Table Tool was originally named for the Danish scientist Tycho Brahe who made one of the most famous tables: a catalog of over a thousand carefully and accurately described stars.
