Why is your program so unreliable? This morning (7.2.'05.), after much effort with it, during which it quit, while I was adjusting the Page Setup figure to fit more onto the page, and then proceeded to refuse to print all the page, (I tried again, later, and found that altering the Page Setup figure immediately resulted in the top & bottom of the page being cut off, in Preview, which previously corresponded to the page being cut, when printing: i.e. the same result in Preview & in printing), I ended up pasting all my work into AppleWorks in order to print it. That program did what I asked it to do, with the same printer & same printer-driver. Your program didn't. Which is a shame, considering all your program has to offer.
Checking further, I find that the top of the page is being cut off, now, when the paper in my hand proves it was previously printed! What IS going on? Your program is becoming so unreliable I shall soon have to stop using it altogether.
(Later still) Now it appears that the whole page is printed provided you keep the Page Setup at 100%. Is the program really intended to retain the Page Setup figure from one use to the next, instead of saving it with the document itself??? A document with tables began to behave very strangely. Text seemed to be lost over the side of the table, and part of the table was displayed in the wrong part of the page. Then the document got stuck, and I had to force the program to quit. Some of this seemed to be the result of a Page Setup figure "inherited" from the previous use of the program, not the 100% figure in use for that document. Fortunately, I save my work on floppy disc as well, and was able to restore the original document quite readily. It's all very well offering lots of bells & whistles, but what about the run-of-the-mill "bread-and-butter" functions?? If they don't work properly, people end up unable to use your program.

Roger,

I'm sorry you experience difficulties with Nisus Writer Express. You raise some serious issues. I wish I could give you a meaningful response beyond stating that what you report, while very real to you, is, nonetheless, quite rare.

I've checked with an engineer who suggests the following:

1. Find the Console application in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder.

Applications/Utilities/Console

2. Start the Console and clear the log by clicking the "whisk broom" or typing Command-K.

3. Start Nisus Writer Express.

4. Copy what appears in the Console window and email that to us (with a description of what did not work correctly) at <support@nisus.com>

We'll get back to you as soon as we have something meaningful to report.
