I like to use British English. I have set every preference and setting I can find to British English, but I find docs keep reverting to US English. I have even remade the Nisus New Document. But perhaps there's something I've overlooked? Or the Nisus app thinks that people like me are just an anachronism, an insignificant minority . . . I humbly beg to differ. But if anyone can throw any light on this little difficulty, I'll be most grateful.

This has been a topic of much discussion. The first thing I would suggest you check is the language setting in the system. You should have the Mac OS language set (via the international pane of systems preferences) to British English, and British English should be the first language in the list.
