I have a para style called Normal.
Sometimes I want to start a new line using that style without any supplementary attributes of whatever sort carried over from the line before. I am astonished how difficult this can be. What's the quickest way to get back to basics?

If the insertion point rests in an empty paragraph then no macros are required here, just use the menu Format > Remove All Attributes and Styles. Despite its name that menu will actually apply the "Normal" style, if one exists.
