I did a quick search, but couldn't find an answer
I used to be able to type cmd-return or shift-return in find, to look for find (mostly I did this to replace to returns with one), but the only way I can get a return into the find window is to copy and past
I can get line feed with cntrl-return...
what is the secret that I have forgotten or is this not available in pro

Hiya Gemmo
Just paste one in, or use the special characters in Powerfind or Powerfind Pro.
In PowerfindPro the return is shown as "\n".

thanks
as a work around that works (roundly)
but is it not possible to insert a return with opt-return, as it was with NWE (pre-3)

I think this must be a mistake- you should be able to use Option + Return to insert a newline into the Find field (or Shift + Return for a soft return). I'll have us take a look, thanks.
just to clarify
