I use MS Word format (not RTF) as my default format in Nisus. When I use my smart folder to find all my Word docs within X number of days, only those created in MS Word show up.

How do I make Smart Folders find my Nisus docs?

I don't know, it works fine for me when I set up this sort of search and save it as a smart folder. Do your Nisus created .doc files show up a Microsoft Word format files in Get Info? Are their creation dates correct and within the date range you are searching for?

I assume you are using the "File Format: Microsoft Word Format" drop down in the "Save As..." dialog when saving them initially?

strange...it works on my laptop - but on my desktop, definitely doesn't....I'm on the road now but I will check the items you mentioned. thanks.
