Transform Text in Paragraph Style

Post by adryan »

G'day, all

I want to create a Paragraph Style that uses the "Transform Text To UPPERCASE" command (operating on the entire paragraph) to do what that command is supposed to do; viz, change the actual character if necessary, not just how it is displayed. But it doesn't seem to work.

The "Display as UPPERCASE" command works when applied to text in the Style definition box, but the other command doesn't. It changes the look of the text in that box, but it fails to change it in the main document view.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Adrian

The "Transform Text to UPPERCASE" is a command, which is why it is in the Edit menu. It actually performs a change on the currently selected text. Then it stops. It's not a style or attribute.

The "Display as…" is like a style. It applies dynamically. It doesn't change anything. It just makes things look different.

G'day, Philip et al

Thanks for that, Philip. It's what I was afraid of. But it makes it hard to know which of the commands in the various menus will "stick" when used in a Style definition.
