Removing "Comments" and "Track Changes."

Hello everyone,

I am sure this question has been asked (and likely answered) but I have not been able to find anything.

I have a long research paper I want to submit to a publisher.

I want to remove the "comments" and "changes" from the paper, and so, send a clean copy to the publisher.

If I click "reject changes" the content of the paper changes....(or so it seems).

What to do?

Thanks

Mike in the Philippines.

1)
To remove all "comments" from the document, select all text in the document and then execute the menu command
Tools > Comments > Remove Comments in Selection
This command won't be available unless something is selected.
If you want to keep a copy of your comments, you can use one of the macros to extract them before you delete them.

2)
Regarding Track Changes, you should first make up your mind whether you want to keep the changes or reject them. You can accept or reject them one by one, or do it all in one go. "Review Changes" from the Tools menu will open a nice pane where changes can be easily accepted or rejected.
If I click "reject changes" the content of the paper changes
If you reject changes Nisus will just insert the text that was in the document before it was changed.

When I select text, "Remove Comments in Selection" is not highlighted, and so I cannot select it.

Are you saying that you definitely have Comments in the document, and when you execute Select All from the Edit menu, "Remove Comments in Selection" in the Tool menu is not enabled (grayed out)?

Yes, precisely that.

Create a new user account, log into that account and see if the problem persists. That's a fast and good way to find out whether your account has been corrupted.

I'm not using Sonoma.

I am grateful for your concern. "Create a new user account"---I am not really sure what to do...can you be a bit more specific?

To create a new User Account on your Mac, do this:
1. Access System Preferences from the Apple menu
2. navigate to Users & Groups
3. Click on the lock to unlock it
4. Enter the password for your Mac
5. click on the "+" button
6. choose the account type (Administrator)
7. Enter Full Name (just enter "Test)
8. Enter Account Name: Test
9. Leave password empty
10. Click on "Create User"
11. Close System Preferences
12. Open the Apple menu (in the upper left corner of your screen)
13. Choose "Log Out new"
14. Choose the new "Test" account and log into it

You are now in a pristine new User Account. Start Nisus in the new User Account and see if the problem persists.

Here are also two videos you may want to watch. There are tons of such videos on TouTube.

I don't think you need to create a new user account.
You mentioned tracked changes, so please try using the menu Tools > Tracked Changes > Accept All Changes.
