Printing avery labels

I am trying to print on some avery labels, number 6570.

I have tried making tables in NWE and setting the margins to the smallest possible. Still too much margin to fit these labels.

I have also tried downloading the .doc template from the avery site. Same trouble.

I have had this trouble in the past tring to print business cards with NWE.

I realy don't want to buy MS Word or one of those print shop type apps just to print labels.

I don't think Nisus Writer Express is ready for labels yet. For things like that I turn to NeoOffice/J, which is much less beautiful and much more cumbersome than NWE, but it has a fuller feature set and doesn't cost anything. Download it at www.neooffice.org. It doesn't come with Avery 6570 labels built in, but I downloaded the template from the Avery Web site, and NeoOffice seemed to open it without any trouble.

I'm not trying to steer you away from Nisus Writer Express. I much prefer working in it than in any other application, but it's still building up its feature set at this point. I hope that eventually NWE will be able to handle labels (and mail merges), but for the time being I think you'll need to look elsewhere.

thank you for the reply.

it would be great if NWE had more exact control of text placement.

making things fit on the page without tedious trial and error is something nisus could be a leader in.

i will check out neoofficej.

thanks again,
