Sorry if this is an ignorant query. When I convert a Microsoft Word (docx) document into NWP, footnotes disappear. Could someone help, please?

I'm sorry you're having trouble with DOCX files. In general this should work properly: importing a DOCX file into Nisus Writer should preserve footnotes.

Nenad and I communicated privately to successfully resolve the problem, which was that Nisus Writer's preferences had been set to use a quicker/simpler DOCX importer. Once preferences had been changed to use the default/best LibreOffice-based importer, the DOCX file imported with footnotes and other special content intact.
