Size of "Save" dialogue box

While NWE is working well for me, there's one little niggling question:

Why is the dialogue box under File/Save so much smaller than in other OSX applications? For me, it's only large enough to show six items, thus requiring a lot of extra scrolling around to navigate to the folder I'm seeking.

Or is this just some idiosyncratic behavior on my Mac?

You can enlarge or shrink the "save as..." box like any other window -- drag the bottom right corner. It seems to remember the new larger size too, even across application restarts which is handy.

I simply never realized that it could be manipulated like a Finder window.

Bowing my head in embarassment, I retreat back to lurker status...
