I can't seem to open a plain text file from a unix app with 2.1.3. Also perl macros seem to hang or crash NWE a lot. I have the sneaking suspicion the file troubles you were having with 2.1.2 are present in a few other places yet. I've submitted bugs on both.

The file opening problem seems to also apply to Pages and Safari, though notably NOT to textedit or Word vX. Looks like it's an OS X problem rather than your problem. *mutter zero OS X versions, you'd think I'd know better by now mutter*

Yes that's interesting, Nisus allows you to select the file in the open file dialog but nothing happens when you try to open it. TextEdit opens it fine when you select it. With TextWrangler and Tex-Edit Plus you can only select it if you use the enable "All Files" option, but it then opens fine in both. Pages, like Nisus, lacks the "All Files" option in Open and simply won't allow the file to be selected and so won't open it.

Put the .txt identifier on the file name and everyone's happy to open it, which makes sense as with a Unix created file the file extension is the only metadata an app has to go on.

Did this ever work in previous OS X versions and/or Nisus versions?
