Is there any way to set a default page size? I would like all my new documents to open initially at 100% although I might, on occasion choose to subsequently change this.

You can do this by setting up the level of magnification you'd like in your Nisus New file and then save the changes.

Thanks, Joao, for the reply.
Are you referring to the Nisus menu (File>New) or do you mean the Preferences>New Document>Advanced settings?
Presumably this is covered off in the “Help” manual but I couldn’t find it!

You can set the magnifying level on any page at the bottom of your open document, or within the Page palette. Best of all, you can set the magnifying level (with one of those two methods) in the template you no doubt have made so that you have a standard file to your taste opening every time.
The Nisus New File item in the Help file explains how to do that. All the best!

Anne:
If I enter “Nisus New File“ in the Help search (as you implicitly suggest) nothing comes up which seems to answer my question.
There does not appear to be an item entitled “Nisus New File” in the list of contents on the left side of the Help widow.
I’m still confused!

Sorry, beetone, silly of me...''
That was last night, I had just had two very hard days because of the new tsunami alert, and no night in between to speak of (I am a journalist).
What you must look up in the Help file is, of course, "Template" or "Stationery". Nisus New File is the name of the main template you can create, the one which opens when you click on New.

Thanks, Anne, for the info.
Guess the tsunami alert was only of *professional* interest to a Swiss resident!

Sorry to answer so late, beetone, and on top of everything this has nothing to do with Nisus Templates (i'm sure you've solved THAT problem by now): it was just to inform you that the most devastating quake in Central Europe, complete with Rhine tsunami, happened in Basle, the town was totally destroyed. It was 650 years ago, but it still worries specialists, because the fault which set it into motion is somewhere south of Basle, and it's still active. If you are interested, I can mail you something. So my interest WAS purely professional, this time. But as I don't live far from the sensitive spot, there is always something personal about it...
