Hi Martin,
Many many thanks and more- everything seems to work just as it should, and it is time for me to sit and reconstruct all those macros from NWC..
Please- do not lose patience- I hope it is the last time (for a while, at least) I bug you:
a. a stupid question- how do I look in mac into an RTF file? (to get the font names)- if I save a file with various fonts as RTF with nisus- TextEdit reads only the (formatted) text- so how do I get the plain text with all format commands?
b. This is really pushing it... Is there a way to change from inside a macro the typing language?( meaning to switch from U.S. flag to the Hebrew star on the right of the topmost menu?) or is the macro limitted to internal nisus commands..
c. and last- have you or anyone who reads this ever heard of\tested a good set of unicode hebrew fonts? The selection of OS 10.4 is rather limitted and I realized from browsing that lots of available fonts are faulty.
Thats for now. Thanks in advance.
NW 6.5 hebrew files and Styles bugs(?).
a. In TextEdit open Preferences->Open and Save and then check the "Ignore rich text commands in RTF files" box.
b. Depending on the type of macro you're writing you can use Nisus menu, Perl or Applescript commands. You can set/change the Nisus language setting using the Format->Language menu which should be available to a menu command dialect macro.
c. I've no experience with Hebrew unfortunately so perhaps someone else can help with this question.

Thanks- textedit shows everything now.
b. Concerning language- changing language from within nisus does not change the keyboard (ie whether you type english or hebrew text), for that I need the external command (command+space or clicking on the flags). I guess a more accurate frazing of my question would be 'how do I incorporate this command into a nisus macro of the earlier format?'
By the way- I have noticed that rectangular selection does not function correctly on a hebrew paragraph/text (only on an english one). Is that a known bug or am I doing something wrong?

dshan is right that there is no direct way to change the keyboard layout (eg: flag menu) using a macro command. However, the preference in Express to automatically switch the keyboard layout when the language changes applies to macro commands that change the language.Ruchama wrote:b. I've spent a good amount of the last week looking for good Hebrew fonts. There are very few. Most fonts I've found are "Display" as opposed to "Text" fonts. Even the few Text fonts do not have nikud. Font making is a very time consuming process and fonts are notoriously easy to steal. The Hebrew word processing market, while intense and devoted, is not large. We at Nisus Software Inc. do not make fonts and, it seems that there is not much market for these fonts.have you or anyone who reads this ever heard of\tested a good set of unicode hebrew fonts? Therefore your best bet is to "Google": Hebrew Macintosh Unicode Fonts. Then explore to find what works for you.
