I just got NWE and it doesn't appear to have a working autosave. I did a quick search but the posts regarding any issues appear to be relatively old so...
I have autosave set to do so every 5 minutes. I can see it is creating files with some of my text as the filename but as soon as I quit NWE, that file gets removed.
In order for the file to be permanently saved, I still have to choose Save from the file menu. This behaviour makes me more than a little nervous. What if the app crashes before I've had a chance to click File->Save? Isn't the autosave feature supposed to actually save the work rather than make some kind of intermediate file that gets removed somewhere between autosaving and exiting the application?
Is this an issue or am I just not doing right?

If you want docs autosaved in the document manager to be kept you need to check Preferences->General "Keep new documents in document manager without asking me".
If you don't have this option set it removes the doc manager's autosaved file when you quit the app or close the window (though it will first give you a dialog option to save it either in the doc mgr or the filesystem) or do your first "Save as..." Once you save it as a file outside the doc manager it will then autosave to that file instead of the doc manager every "x" mins.
