No new line without new paragraph?

NisusWriter Express appears to lack a newline character -- shift-return in MSWord, InDesign, PageMaker, etc, etc. How does one force a new line without starting a new paragraph?

That's a good question, and one I'd like answered. I was hoping it would make it into NWE2...

The No. 1 irritation in NWE is the lack of a new line key combination.

Nisus have obviously gone to considerable lengths to remain compatible with the MSWord document model (viz the use of rtf as the file format).

Strange then that such an important and long-standing feature should be overlooked. It's been present in MSWord since the mid 1980s and thence in most word processors and DTP programs.

Have Nisus Software given any explanation as to why this facility has been omitted? Is it an oversight or a deliberate policy?

Hi:

This feature was not very often requested before 2.0 so we have invested our time working on other features that more users were asking about. We have had a lot of feedback on this one though since 2.0 so we are looking into adding it for a future release.

Odd. I would have thought it fairly high on a wish list. I'm not too keen on footnotes and stuff

Hi there, just to let any Nisus folks who might be reading this, I want to echo the need for the ability to have line breaks without a new paragraph. This is very important and is certainly a make-or-break feature for me.
