I have a need to have certain words have a background shading.
But AFAIK, 'Background color' in NWP extends to the full height of the line spacing, like this:

I want that shading only to be as tall as the tallest letter, ie, as high as the "l" in "several".
Is there any way to do this? (Apart from graphics objects, which aren't going to work for me.)
