Spelling question

Post by robertb »

Is there a way to tell the spell checker to ignore the URLs it finds? The help file doesn't mention it and a search of the forum doesn't turn up anything.

I'm finishing a major project with many references that contain URLs. I run spell check over the entire document every now and then, and it would be useful to not have to click on the "ignore" button with every reference to the Web.

Thanks.

I was going to say that NWP should automatically ignore URLs it detects, but it looks like the whole URL isn't ignored, just the first part. I'll file that as a bug.

I'd say the best solution for now is to mark the whole URL using the "Tech - URL" language, which has spellchecking disabled.

Thanks very much for the advice—I'll make the Tech (URL) language change.

You know, though, it's interesting: I saw but didn't consciously register the fact that spell checker flagged only the ends of some of the URLs. My brain parsed it as flagging the entire thing.
