"Autosave" Issue

There's another thing I've got the feeling that I'm looking at it but not seeing it: When I open a document and edit it, the "Autosave" function kicks in after a few moments. Now, let's say I want to try something out but at the end of the day decide that I don't want it. How do I go back to the un-edited version?

The literal answer to your question is to use the menu File > Revert To. You will often see a convenient action like revert to "Last Opened", but worst case you could use "Browse All Versions" to restore the desired earlier version. This autosave behavior and Revert commands are all standard macOS autosave features now.

I also recommend that you consider establishing an autosave threshold period in your Nisus Writer preferences, in the "Saving" pane. I find that having a reasonable autosave period (5-10 minutes) is a good way to prevent these kinds of exploratory edits from being autosaved before I realize I don't want them after all.

Martin,

Thanks again for your response. That's exactly what I was looking for!
