British English Dictionary?

Post by hoberdiek »

Is there one? How do I get it if there is?

Also, where do I find the icon of a finger pointing?

Thanks!

Unless you have thrown out all dictionaries but the US one, you have your choice of dictionaries in the Language palette, you can just click on the one you want.
Moreover, in the Preference pane, go to Languages, you can choose which English you want to control. I have chosen British English myself, plus the British English in the Language palette, and I am happy to say it works.
I could do this for many languages.
You will see that you can custom quite a few things there.
Cheers!

PS. Hoberdiek, I don't know what you mean by the finger pointing icon, so maybe someone else will help with that…
In the meantime, I thought I should send you a shot of the preference panel for Languages.
Cheers again.

First, thanks for the reply and help so far Anne. You're exactly right, NWP does have a British English dictionary. Well, I decided to delete my first reply here in this forum thread, and turn the answer into a FAQ: How to I change the spelling dictionary? Hopefully that explains everything for you hoberdiek; if not, please let us know.

I'm not sure I understand this question. What finger pointing icon do you mean, and for what purpose?
