measurement units for table cells

Post by ThosGreen »

Although Nisus accepts metric units in most places, it doesn't seem possible to specify the dimensions of a table cell in metric using the dialog in the Tables tab of the Palette Dock, where width and height of cells can be set. Neither '3 cm' nor '30 mm' worked.

Presumably this is a small bug.

G'day, ThosGreen et al

It works OK for me with NWP 3.2.2.

The measurements units in the Palette reflect those for the Rulers. They are set either in Preferences > Nisus New File > View > Units or in View > Rulers.
Presumably this is a small bug.
Well, we are rummaging around at the cellular level, aren't we?

Thanks Adrian. I had just discovered that when I made a new table in a new document, the cell widths were metric. BUT I can't change the metric widths to inches.

The background here is that I have imported a CSV table. It appears in Nisus as plain text, which is fine, and I use the command Table> Convert Text to Table to create a table. The cell widths are then set in inches, and I cannot change them.

Not a big deal, because the conversion between metric and US is easy, luckily.

When I change the units in View > Rulers, not only are they changed in the Palette but the conversion is performed there also.
