How to bookmark each instance of a paragraph style

Post by vwnisus »

1. I have added a paragraph style ("Numbered Heading").

2. This paragraph style is applied to one line of text as a heading to one or more paragraphs of text that follows.
These headings with the Numbered Heading style are such as the following:
211.     The reasonableness test.
212.     Varieties of exemption clause.
213.     International supply contracts.
2. I know it is possible to select each heading and then choose Insert | Bookmarks | Add Bookmarks to give an automated bookmark (which is what I want).

3. As there are 450 of these headings is there a way to automate this process?

Well if all you want is to bookmark all instances of this style, and you are happy with automated names, then you can do this without any automation:
  1. Place your cursor in one instance of the style
  2. Choose "Select All in Style". This should select all instances of your numbered heading
  3. Choose "Add Bookmark"
Note that if some have already been bookmarked, you should probably remove them first, or you will get double-bookmarked items.
